Instruction for unassisted installation and activation of the Alarm Control system
Before you begin the installation, have at the ready a screwdriver and an electric drill (with a 6mm drill bit).

Step 1: Preliminary device placement

1.     Begin the installation with preliminary placement of motion detectors in the rooms you wish to secure. Go by the following instructions:
a. Take into account that a sensor provides coverage of an area of 12x12m, and the recommended installation height is 2.2m above the floor level.
b. Choose a location in which a burglar will most probably come within the range of the detector.
c. Do not place any large objects in front of the detector.
d. Avoid locations in proximity of radiators, ventilation ducts or air-conditioning units.
2.     Choose the optimal location for the ACON panel; as you follow the instructions below:
a. Plan placement of the panel in a place you have unhindered access to (e.g. a hallway, living room, kitchen), so that you can use it in comfort (the recommended installation height is 1.5m above the floor level).
b. The panel needs to be protected against sabotage, which is why you need to plan its placement in a room where it will be protected by a motion detector. (Note: That specific detector should not be programmed for a delayed response, a measure frequently used in entry zones.)
c. If possible, plan to place the panel in a central location, within the shortest distance from motion detectors.
d. Avoid its installation near sources of radioelectric interference and the like (e.g. metal air-conditioning or heating channels, or cable boxes).
3.    Connect the panel AC power cord to a 230V socket.

Step 2: Testing the GSM signal coverage

You now need to test the ACON panel location you selected in terms of the GSM signal strength in its target installation point. Sufficient GSM signal strength will prevent loss of communication with the Monitoring Centre and ensure problem-free use of remote access.
Press the ٧ key on the panel keyboard and enter the 1-2-3-4 user code.
Enter in succession digits 7-0-9-1 (Service > RF & GSM Strength > GSM Signal).
The ACON panel LCD screen will display the GSM signal strength on a scale of 0 to 9 (levels 4 and above are adequate).
If the screen shows signal strength to be below 4, you need to move the ACON panel a few metres on and repeat the procedure described under points 1-3 above.

Step 3: Testing motion detector locations

Before you affix the panel and the sensors in their pre-selected locations, test for communication between them (make sure that the devices “see” one another).
1.    Press the ٧ key on the panel keyboard and enter the 1-2-3-4 user code.
2.    Enter in succession digits 7-0-7-2 (Service > Transmitters > Test Transmitters) to activate the testing mode.
3.    Initiate movement in front of the sensor you wish to test or open its casing. Remember to remove battery insulation first. Note: After you initiate movement in front of the sensor you need to wait at least four minutes before you activate the device again (the EN-50131 standard allows for four-minute breaks between detector transmissions).
4.    The ACON panel LCD screen will display strength of the signal from the tested sensor on a scale of 0 to 9 (levels 6 and above are adequate). You will hear 1 to 4 tones in succession (3 or 4 sounds represent adequate signal strength).

Signal strenth

Tons

If signal strenth less than 6, move detector to better location.

0-2

1 Ton

3-5

2 Tons

6-8

3 Tons

8-9

4 Tons

 5.    If the signal strength displayed on the screen falls below 6, you need to move the sensor a few metres on and repeat the procedure described under points 1-4 above.
6.    Test locations of the remaining sensors in the same way.
7.    At completion of the tests disconnect the plug from a 230V socket.
Note: To optimise communication between the sensors and the panel, reduce the number of ”obstacles”. Take into account the fact that barriers that most reduce signal transmission include reinforced concrete and sheet metal partitions as well as thick walls.

Step 4: Installation and activation of devices

If communication between sensors and the panel is of good quality, you can begin the installation procedure.

EL-2645 motion detector installation:
1.    Recommended installation height for the detector is 2.2m above the floor level.
2.    Open the sensor casing – do that by inserting a screwdriver into a slit at the bottom of the detector, between the front and the back wall of the casing, and turn it by 90º to release the front cover (do not pry the screwdriver inside or you will damage the casing).

3.    Take out the electronic panel – do that by turning a clearly visible white knob–clasp backward (anticlockwise).
4.    Press the back part of the casing against the place on the wall in which you want to install the sensor and mark installation points with a pencil there.
5.    Drill openings for installation points.
6.    Affix the back part of the casing with Rawlplugs.
Make sure that the screw head does not protrude – this may cause the electronic panel to short-circuit!

7.    Install the electronic panel – turn the white knob forward (clockwise).
8.    Close the sensor casing – you will hear the clasp click shut.
9.    Repeat the installation procedure with the remaining sensors.

ACON panel installation:
1.    Recommended installation height for the panel is 1.5m above the floor level.
2.    Make sure that the panel is connected to a 230V socket.
3.    Open the panel casing (loosen the screw at the underside of the panel; insert a screwdriver between the front and the back wall of the casing, and gently turn it by 90º to release clasps. Do not pry the screwdriver inside).
4.    Distance the front from the back casing wall (they will remain connected by two fixing tape bands).
5.    Press the back part of the casing against the place on the wall in which you want to install the panel and mark installation points with a pencil there.
5.    Drill openings for installation points.
7.    Affix the back part of the casing.
8.    Connect batteries to the switchboard (affix ends of the battery wires to the pins visible there).
9.    Close the panel casing – you will hear the clasp click shut.
10.    Connect the panel AC power cord to a 230V socket.

Step 5: Connection to the Juwentus Monitoring Centre

At activation of the system itself, you will need to activate it in the Juwentus monitoring network, to commence provision of the alarm service. Do that by:
1.    Calling the Juwentus Monitoring Centre at (22) 422 77 95. State your given name and surname plus the installation address for purposes of identification.
2.    The technical consultant will establish the connection remotely and guide you through the registration and activation process, and finally check whether the system’s setting and strength of the signal proceeding from respective devices are correct.

CONGRATULATIONS! From that moment on your Alarm Control system is active and you can benefit from all of its functions, within the monitoring service package you chose.
